Chris Del Core, P.E., Principal Engineer
Mr. Del Core joined Costa Engineers, Inc. in 1995 as a mechanical design engineer. With Mr. Costa as his mentor, Chris quickly worked his way through the ranks, becoming an Associate in 2007, and when Mr. Costa was ready to retire in 2016, the baton was passed to Chris and he became one of the Owners of the firm.
In addition to running the company, Chris is responsible for client development and relations, management of the production staff, overall office-wide project coordination, scheduling, and design review. He also takes an active role in his projects, combining creativity, knowledge and analytical tools to provide innovative mechanical systems designs. Chris’ experience is broad-based and includes a wide variety of projects ranging from minor renovations to construction of a new junior college campus. He has been the lead engineer on numerous governmental, health care, winery and commercial building projects; however, he has specialized experience with educational facilities. He is very familiar with the design standards developed by the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and also actively participates in the LEED certification process. His knowledge includes advanced trends in air conditioning concepts, such as thermal energy storage, displacement ventilation, underfloor air delivery, indoor air quality, energy conservation, and energy management systems.
